E-FORESTER
Revolutionizing Forest Intelligence & Ecosystem Monitoring
A 48-Month EU MSCA Staff Exchange Mission to Transform Forest Research
Our aims
- Improve methods for monitoring and inventorying forest resources.
- Better understand the dynamics of forest ecosystems.
- More effectively protect biodiversity and cultural heritage in forests.
- Provide tools supporting sustainable forest management.
Our research aims not only to advance science but also to provide practical solutions that will help protect forests for future generations.
Concept of test plots:
The concept of verification is based on Forest Experimental Control Plots (Poland, Zielonka), designed according to the needs of the project. Those 50 control plots, in different habitat conditions (flat, mountainous terrain, swamp, dune sand, wet clay, snow, etc.), located in all countries participating in the project, 1 ha (100 x 100 m) each plot is planned. The control plots are planned in the way to enable testing the rover in various habitat conditions, so that it can be used in the future in any forest.
The findings from research conducted at these control plots significantly contribute to our understanding of rover-forest conditions interactions.

After Summer School
As part of the E-FORESTER project, a summer school titled "Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry in Environmental Research" was held at the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
Announcement: Summer School, Poznan, Poland
June 23 to June 27, 2025 a E-FORESTER Summer School (Poznan, Poland) will take place as part of the E-FORESTER project. It is organized by two universities with long-standing traditions: Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Poznań University of Life Sciences
International Conference in Poznan, Poland
On June 24th, 2025 an International Conference: "Forests and Heritage: Synergies in Environmental Assessment and Cultural Resource Management"will take place as part of the E-FORESTER project. It is organized by two universities with long-standing traditions: Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Poznań University of Life Sciences
E-FORESTER Kick-off meeting
On November 18, 2024, the team officially launched the project in Nicosia, setting goals, defining roles, and establishing communication to ensure successful collaboration and clear understanding among all participants.
