Summer School’s Field activities

On June 25th, 2025, field activities were held as part of the E-FORESTER project.

The meeting was attended by engineers and environmental scientists, who discussed the project’s implementation plans, particularly regarding the further development and technological applications in forestry and environmental protection.

Participants visited research plots located in the Zielonka Forest, on the outskirts of Poznań, where they held discussions about the use of modern technologies in monitoring forest ecosystems. A detailed conversation was held regarding the next steps to be taken within the project, focusing on the collaboration between various specialists – engineers and environmental scientists – who will carry out the different stages.

Another key point of the meeting was testing the capabilities of the robotic dog, a modern tool supporting work in forestry. Its functions in the field were demonstrated, especially regarding its use for monitoring and analyzing data from hard-to-reach areas.

The discussion also focused on the so-called knowledge transfer, specifically on the application of technology in forestry and archaeology in field conditions. Practical use of research findings and analyses was discussed in the context of cultural heritage protection and forest resource management. The importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in project implementation was emphasized, along with discussions about the next steps in developing this collaboration.

Field activities was financed by the E-FORESTER project, No. 101182985, implemented within the Horizon Europe programme, in the HORIZON-MSCA-2023-SE-01 call.
